Pakistan sees significant decline in coronavirus deaths

Lahore: Pakistan on Tuesday has continued to witness a sharp drop in daily coronavirus deaths and infections as the country reported 4 deaths and 300 new cases, GNN reported.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases surged to 296,149 in Pakistan, while the death toll stands at 6298.

As many as 280,970 patients have recovered from the disease.

 

Punjab

After sharp increase in the cases, the number of patients swelled to 96,832 in the province. The province reported 2199 coronavirus (COVID-19) causalities.

A partial lockdown has been imposed across the province to stem the spread of the infection.

The government has also launched Insaf Imdad Program to help poor segment of society in the difficult times.

 

Sindh

The province has started easing lockdown restriction as it has allowed some industries to resume operations.

The cases of infection have surged to 129,469 in the province, the most affected region in Pakistan. The death toll has reached to 2403 in the province.

 

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The confirmed cases have surged to 36,118 in the province. It is leading other regions with more causalities as toll has surged to 1250 in KPK.

 

Balochistan

There are 12,879 confirmed cases while 141 patients died of the infection so far.

 

AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan

There are 2,903 coronavirus cases in the GB while 67 patients including a young doctor have died due to the infection. As many as 1566 people have recovered from the infection.

There are 2,299 cases in AJK while 63 deaths has been reported.

 

Islamabad

There are 15,649 cases in the capital city while 175 people have lost their lives.
