- Islamabad: (web desk) In the matter of tree felling in Islamabad, the Islamabad High Court has stopped the CDA from felling trees.
Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro heard the petition of Muhammad Naveed Ahmed. Advocate Mudassar Latif Abbasi appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner. The court sought a detailed report from the CDA regarding the felling of trees.
The petitioner’s lawyer said that the process of felling trees is going on within the limits of Islamabad against the rules and regulations, and that felling trees is causing environmental changes, which is dangerous.
The court summoned the Assistant Attorney General, who was present in the courtroom, to the rostrum and asked why he was cutting down the trees. The court stopped the CDA from cutting down the trees until the next hearing.
The court said that a detailed reply and report should be submitted to the court at the next hearing. The court adjourned the hearing of the case until February 2.
