Beijing: China has given approval to its first locally produced vaccine designed by state-owned pharmaceutical giant Sinopharm.
Officials, on Thursday, made the announcement a day after Sinopharm said that it’s vaccine is 79.34% effective, after the results of the stage 3 large-scale clinical trials were made public.
China has already vaccinated more than 3 million “key groups” while 1.5 million doses of vaccine have been given to “high-risk groups” in November, government officials have confirmed.
