Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has discussed regional peace and security with his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavusoglu.

In a telephonic conversation, Shah Mehmood reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to continue to play significant role in maintaining peace and security in the region including the Afghan peace process.

Referring to the Kashmir dispute, FM expressed gratitude towards his Turkish counterpart for his country’s consistent and categorical stance over the issue.

“Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan raised voice for oppressed people of Kashmir at the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) which has given courage and support to the Kashmiri people,” he said.

“It is a matter of satisfaction that both the countries share identical views on important regional and international matters,” FM said.

Mr. Mevlüt Çavusoglu was appreciative of the steps taken by Pakistan for regional peace including its efforts for bringing peace in Afghanistan.
