Paris, January 27 : The Jammu and Kashmir Forum France (JKFF) has said that the Kashmiris living in Paris observed Indian Republic Day as Black Day to protest against India’s continued illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
The JKFF in a memorandum addressed to the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and submitted to the Indian Embassy in Paris expressed concern over the human rights abuses being perpetrated by Indian troops in IIOJK. It urged the UN Human Rights Council, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and other human rights bodies to seriously look into the matter and send their teams to IIOJK where 8 million people have been kept hostage by 900,000 Indian troops and continued military siege has paralyzed the daily life.
The memorandum appealed to the world community to take cognizance of killings, detentions, house arrests and torturing of innocent people. “Raping women by Indian army officers and soldiers and the forced disappearances in IOJK is a routine practice for the last many years,” it deplored.
The memorandum maintained that Modi government is a fascist regime and Indian democracy is in fact a farce democracy. It deplored that Modi regime has unleashed RSS goons to further impose the Hudutva ideology in IIOJK with the active support of the Indian Army. “An organized campaign is underway in Kashmir Valley to bring extremist Hindus from different parts of India to the Valley to convert the Muslim majority population into minority,” it added. The memorandum pointed out that with every passing day naked Indian aggression touches fresh heights.
JKFF through the memorandum asked the international community to force India to lift the military siege and restore rescind its actions taken on and post August 05, 2019. It also demanded of New Delhi to give physical access to the world human rights bodies to IIOJK to take stock of the ground situation.
The memorandum called for holding a free and fair plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir under the UN supervision as was guaranteed and promised in United Nations Security Council resolutions to allow the Kashmiris decide their future by themselves. KMS—5M
