Shaniera Akram sheds light on ‘Polished Man’ campaign

Karachi: Shaniera Akram, social activist and wife of Pakistani cricket legend Wasim Akram, has shed on the Polished Man campaign which has prompted celebs to post pictures with nail paint on social media.

According to details, some of the prominent faces of Pakistan are painting their finger nails for a good cause.

Sharing photos of those men, Shaniera explained that this campaign is aimed at portraying a softer side of men in the country and raising awareness about child abuse.

 “Some of the toughest men Pakistan has ever produced are showing their softer side & colouring one nail to represent the millions of children who suffer every day at the hand of an adult. Our Pakistani heroes say ‘We WILL NOT tolerate child abuse in our country,” she wrote.

She further hailed celebs taking part in campaign saying if painting a nail got you talking about child abuse, then we must be doing something right.

“If painting a nail got you talking about child abuse, then we must be doing something right! Celebrities & sports stars across Pakistan come together in full force to #BreakTheSilence to #EndTheViolence against Children #PolishedManPk #StandAgainstChildAbuse @polished_man,” she added.

Celebrities such as Wasim Akram, Adnan Siddiqui, Shahzad Roy, Shoaib Malik, Humayun Saeed and Fakhr-e-Alam joined the cause by sharing their pictures with their fingernails painted.
