Twitter officials have confirmed that the account linked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal website was hacked. According to details, it has been revealed that the Twitter account linked to the personal website of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been hacked.
According to Indian media, Twitter officials said that the Twitter account linked to Prime Minister Modi’s website was hacked and the management was aware of this and steps were taken to secure the account. According to Indian media, some tweets were sent from Narendra Modi’s hacked account on Thursday morning in which people were asked to donate bitcoins.
A tweet said, “I urge all of you to donate generously to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for Kwid-19. Now India will start with a corrupt currency, please donate a bitcoin.”
Another bogus tweet from the hacked account read, “This account has been hacked by John Wick (hckindia@tutanota.com), we have not hacked PTM Mall”. The Twitter account has also been verified by the Twitter administration.
The hacked account was verified and has 2.5 million followers, the account was linked to Narendra Modi’s personal website. Earlier in mid-July, the social networking site Twitter faced a similar bizarre attack by hackers in which the Twitter accounts of prominent world figures were hacked, not just authentic accounts. Users were even robbed of hacked accounts by hackers.
The hacked accounts contained cryptocurrency tweets promising to double the amount of bitcoin sent to a particular account.
According to foreign media reports, in the beginning, about 300 people fell victim to this fraud and lost more than one lakh dollars. Leading global figures targeted by hackers include Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Alan Musk, Joe Biden, Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffett and Mike Bloomberg. In addition, Ober and Apple accounts were also attacked by hackers
