{"id":4700,"date":"2020-09-01T11:29:58","date_gmt":"2020-09-01T11:29:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailykashmirpost.com\/eng\/?p=4700"},"modified":"2020-09-01T11:29:58","modified_gmt":"2020-09-01T11:29:58","slug":"opening-up-without-control-of-covid-19-is-recipe-for-disaster-says-wh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailykashmirpost.com\/eng\/2020\/09\/01\/opening-up-without-control-of-covid-19-is-recipe-for-disaster-says-wh\/","title":{"rendered":"Opening up without control of COVID-19 is recipe for disaster, says WH"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>GENEVA: Countries with significant active spread of coronavirus must prevent amplifying events, as opening up without the virus being under control would be a \u201crecipe for disaster\u201d, the World Health Organization said on Monday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus recognised that many people are getting tired of restrictions and want to return to normality eight months into the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The WHO fully supported efforts to reopen economies and societies, he told a news conference, adding: \u201cWe want to see children returning to school and people returning to workplaces, but we want to see it done safely.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"bsac bsac-clearfix bsac-post-inline bsac-float-center bsac-align-center bsac-column-1\">\n<div id=\"bsac-312359-1545855591\" class=\"bsac-container bsac-type-custom_code \" data-adid=\"312359\" data-type=\"custom_code\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cNo country can just pretend the pandemic is over,\u201d he said. \u201cThe reality is this virus spreads easily.
