{"id":4632,"date":"2020-08-31T12:04:39","date_gmt":"2020-08-31T12:04:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailykashmirpost.com\/eng\/?p=4632"},"modified":"2020-08-31T12:04:39","modified_gmt":"2020-08-31T12:04:39","slug":"indian-police-arrest-man-for-hoisting-pakistan-flag-on-rooftop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailykashmirpost.com\/eng\/2020\/08\/31\/indian-police-arrest-man-for-hoisting-pakistan-flag-on-rooftop\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian police arrest man for hoisting Pakistan flag on rooftop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man was arrested in India\u2019s Madhya Pradesh for unfurling Pakistan\u2019s national flag at his home in a video that went viral on social media, said Indian police on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">According to\u00a0<i>The Hindu<\/i>, a video made rounds on social media showing a man\u2019s house in Shipra village, with an unfurled Pakistani flag at the rooftop.<\/p>\n<p>Following the video\u2019s emergence, Indian police took action and arrested the resident, who was identified as Farukh Khan.<\/p>\n<p>Khan was arrested on August 30 under Indian Penal Code Section 153A, which pertains to \u201cpromoting enmity between groups on ground of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony\u201d, said an official.<\/p>\n<p>Revenue inspector Lakhan Singh said he was instructed to investigate the matter further and upon inquiry, Khan revealed that his 12-year-old son had unfurled the flag \u201cout of ignorance\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect, according to police, said when he came to know about the incident, he removed the flag.
