{"id":18764,"date":"2022-08-26T02:31:16","date_gmt":"2022-08-26T02:31:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailykashmirpost.com\/eng\/?p=18764"},"modified":"2022-08-26T02:31:16","modified_gmt":"2022-08-26T02:31:16","slug":"pm-orders-adjustment-of-fac-relief-in-electricity-bills-within-24hrs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailykashmirpost.com\/eng\/2022\/08\/26\/pm-orders-adjustment-of-fac-relief-in-electricity-bills-within-24hrs\/","title":{"rendered":"PM orders adjustment of FAC relief in electricity bills within 24hrs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong class=\"location-names\">ISLAMABAD: <\/strong>Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday directed the power distribution companies to revise the electricity bills of up to 200 units within 24 hours, adjusting the relief under the fuel adjustment charge (FAC) announced by the government.<\/p>\n<p>The premier chaired a high-level meeting to address the issues faced by the power consumers and constituted a committee on the issue.<\/p>\n<div data-oembed-url=\"https:\/\/cdn.jwplayer.com\/videos\/81CVJDTr-nMuWCUIu.mp4\">\n<div>\n<div><iframe tabindex=\"-1\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.iframe.ly\/api\/iframe?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.jwplayer.com%2Fvideos%2F81CVJDTr-nMuWCUIu.mp4&amp;key=73b4a3e6895a3640b0439dc45f68e4f8\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe staffers of the distribution companies should work round the clock to ensure the revision of electricity bills,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>PM Shehbaz instructed the concerned authorities to cancel the leaves of all the staffers and present him a compliance report immediately and also ensure the execution of the relief measures announced by the government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe banks should also be directed to remain open in the coming days to enable the consumers to pay their revised electricity bills,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was told that the implementation of the relief package announced by the PM\u00a0should be ensured. The electricity bills of around 16.6m are being corrected to provide them relief under the fuel price adjustment.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about inflated electricity\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/tribune.com.pk\/story\/2372739\/govt-to-scrap-fixed-tax-waive-fac-on-electricity-bills\" rel=\"nofollow\">bills<\/a><\/em>, PM Shehbaz earlier said fuel adjustment charges \u2013 linked to international fuel prices \u2013 witnessed an exorbitant rise due to which additional charges were imposed on the electricity bills.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI took notice of this [inflated electricity bills] and on the instructions of [PML-N supremo] Mian Nawaz Sharif\u2026 we have decided to waive additional charges from the electricity bills of 17 million consumers out of a total 30 million,\u201d the premier said.<\/p>\n<p>He also directed an inquiry over the levy of increased sales tax ratio to shopkeepers and retailers in the electricity bills other than the agreed one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday directed the power distribution companies to revise the electricity bills of up to 200 units within 24 hours, adjusting the relief under the fuel adjustment charge (FAC) announced by the government.
