Now, zombie apocalypse K-drama\u00a0<em>All Of Us Are Dead<\/em>\u00a0has topped Netflix\u2019s streaming charts at home and abroad, proving the Korean dramas are here to stay.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to stats compiled by\u00a0<em>FlixPatrol<\/em>, the horror series has come out in first place in 25 countries since its release on January 28. The director of the series, Lee Jae-kyoo, in a recent interview with a Korean media outlet (translated by\u00a0<em>Soompi<\/em>), reflected on the show\u2019s success, \u201cI truly can\u2019t believe all the love it has received from so many countries around the world,\u201d adding, \u201cI think this will come as a great relief to all the actors and staff who devoted themselves to this project for two years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The series, following a group of high school students trapped on campus as a zombie apocalypse breaks out, is based on the webtoon\u00a0<em>Now At Our School<\/em>\u00a0by Joo Dong-geun.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Explaining how the show may feel different as compared to the webtoon, the director shared, \u201cYou might get the feeling that the show is different from the original as far as the specific situations that happen to some of the kids as well as what each of the characters are like.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">On the show\u2019s 18+ maturity rating, he added, \u201cThe series received the maturity rating of 18+ for about seven different reasons, which would be one to two more than\u00a0<em>Squid Game<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em>Hellbound<\/em>.\u201d He continued, \u201cThere are cruel and violent scenes but we thought these would be necessary in order to stay true to the zombie genre.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Speaking about the cast, he shared, \u201cIf you watch the show, I believe that you\u2019ll find yourself falling more and more in love with\u2026 the characters and the actors who play them. It\u2019s a testament to the appeal that each character has.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He shared with\u00a0<em>Tatler Asia<\/em>, \u201cWorking with them was very great. We emphasised having rehearsals so that it\u2019ll be very realistic to the viewers.
