{"id":10922,"date":"2021-07-19T07:47:23","date_gmt":"2021-07-19T07:47:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailykashmirpost.com\/eng\/?p=10922"},"modified":"2021-07-19T07:47:23","modified_gmt":"2021-07-19T07:47:23","slug":"moeen-rashid-shine-as-england-level-t20-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailykashmirpost.com\/eng\/2021\/07\/19\/moeen-rashid-shine-as-england-level-t20-series\/","title":{"rendered":"Moeen, Rashid shine as England level T20 series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LEEDS: England\u2019s stand-in skipper Jos Buttler top-scored with 59 before their spinners Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali ripped through the Pakistan batting unit to seal a 45-run win in the second Twenty20 Interna\u00adtional and level the series at 1-1 on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Chasing 201 runs to win at Headingley, Pakistan\u2019s openers made a bright start with the bat but lost their way after England fast bowler Saqib Mahmood dismissed captain Babar Azam (22) in the sixth over.<\/p>\n<p>England tightened their grip in the middle overs as leg-spinner Rashid removed Mohammad Rizwan and Sohaib Maqsood in his second spell.<\/p>\n<p>Off-spinner Moeen then dismissed the veteran Mohammad Hafeez and Fakhar Zaman cheaply as Pakistan were left tottering at 95-5.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad ad--adjustable my-4 hidden sm:block py-4\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n<div class=\"js-ad    clearfix\">\n<div class=\"radWrapper  ad__wrapper\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1455520357400-2\" class=\"ad__wrapper__slot\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/1029551\/DAWN-LB-728x90-MIDDLE_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Azam Khan was stumped off Matt Parkinson\u2019s leg-break, before Mahmood returned to rip through the lower order and restrict the tourists to 155-9 in 20 overs.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Buttler marked his return to the national team with his 14th T20 International fifty as England were bowled out for 200 with a ball to spare.<\/p>\n<p>Buttler was declared fit after a calf injury and took the captaincy as Eoin Morgan chose to rest himself in a bid to rotate his squad ahead of this year\u2019s T20 World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>After the hosts lost Jason Roy and Dawid Malan in the opening three overs, Buttler and Ali restored order with a brisk 67-run partnership.<\/p>\n<p>Moeen, the player-of-the-match, eventually fell for 36, scooping fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain to mid-off, but Buttler accelerated the England run rate alongside the hero of the last match Liam Livingstone.<\/p>\n<p>Buttler picked out mid-off for Hasnain\u2019s second wicket of the innings, but Livingstone, fresh from scoring England\u2019s fastest ever hundred at Trent Bridge on Thursday evening, went on to produce another entertaining innings for the home supporters.<\/p>\n<p>Livingstone managed the biggest hit of the day, tonking Haris Rauf\u2019s delivery straight over the newly built Football Stand.<\/p>\n<p>The right-handed batsman was run out for 38 off 23 balls before the lower order added another 35 off the last four overs to take England\u2019s score to 200 for the second consecutive game \u2014 this time to secure victory.<\/p>\n<p>Both teams now head to Manchester for the series decider at Old Trafford on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scoreboard<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ENGLAND:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>J.J.
