Altaf Ahmed Bhat<\/strong> is a distinguished journalist, political leader, businessman, and social activist known for his unwavering commitment to the freedom struggle of Jammu and Kashmir<\/strong>. Born in Srinagar, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir<\/strong>, and currently residing in Islamabad, Pakistan<\/strong>, Bhat has spent decades advocating for human rights and self-determination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A graduate of Kashmir University<\/strong>, his political journey began during the 1988 Jammu and Kashmir State Assembly elections<\/strong>, where he rose to prominence as a student leader<\/strong> of the Muslim United Front (MUF)<\/strong> \u2014 a pro-freedom alliance that challenged Indian state control. The alleged rigging of those elections marked a turning point in the Kashmiri resistance movement<\/strong>, a cause Bhat continues to champion globally.<\/p>\n

Leadership and Activism<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Bhat currently serves as the Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM)<\/strong>, a leading political organization actively engaged in the Kashmir freedom struggle<\/strong>. He also heads the Jammu Kashmir Voice of Victims (VoV)<\/strong> \u2014 a recognized human rights organization<\/strong> that documents Indian state terrorism<\/strong> and human rights violations in Kashmir<\/strong>, raising awareness across international forums.<\/p>\n

As Chairman of Al-Jabbar Trust<\/strong>, Bhat leads multiple philanthropic projects<\/strong>, including the construction of mosques<\/strong>, educational programs<\/strong>, and medical aid initiatives<\/strong> for refugees, orphans, and displaced families in Pakistan<\/strong> and Azad Jammu and Kashmir<\/strong>. His recent contributions include donating land and ambulances<\/strong> to Al Razi Hospital (CBR Phase 1)<\/strong>, supporting public healthcare and social welfare efforts.<\/p>\n
